HBEF Board

The Hilde Back Education Fund has two advisory boards; one is based in Kenya and its membership is purely Kenyans; the other is international and is composed of people of different nationalities based in different parts of the world. While the role of the international advisory board is to help sensitize people outside Kenya about the work of HBEF, that of the Kenyan advisory board is more active; all applications by potential beneficiaries have to be reviewed and approved by this board; additionally, the Kenyan board meets regularly to brainstorm on new projects and programs undertaken by HBEF. Over 50% of the Kenyan advisory board members have a solid background in education matters, some currently serving as teachers.

All advisory board members (local and international) serve on a voluntary basis at the request of the HBEF Chair, Mr Chris Mburu.
